The primary duties involve producing high-quality Magnetic Resonance Images, performing daily quality control checks, selecting appropriate coils, and managing equipment repairs when necessary. Responsibilities also include thoroughly screening patients for contraindications, verifying orders with the radiologist, and handling patient care interactions with hospital staff.
Candidates should ideally possess 2 years of prior Magnetic Resonance Imaging or Radiographer experience and maintain ARRT Certification (MR) or ARMRIT. A graduation from an approved Radiologic Technology or Magnetic Resonance Program is required, along with current BLS certification.
Performs duties directly involved with producing high quality Magnetic Resonance Images; Must perform quality control checks daily. Selects proper coils for the various procedures requested; Calls for repairs and reports to supervisor when M.R.I. unit is not working properly; Properly screens all patients prior to procedure and ensures there are no contraindications; Evaluates all orders, verifies them with radiologist if needed, and ensures correct exam is performed. Properly screens all patients to ensure there are no contraindications for IV contrast. Responsible for interacting with hospital staff and/or nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts by identifying and assisting in the resolutions. Responsible and accountable for maintaining performance skills. Routinely works weekends, holidays, overtime, and/or on an on-call/call-back status, when needed. 1. 2 years prior Magnetic Resonance Imaging and/or Radiographer experience preferred. 2. Membership in related professional organization preferred. 3. ARRT Certification (MR) or ARMRIT in Magnetic Resonance Imaging 4. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
