The Medical Office Specialist supervises the overall functions of the medical office, handling patient scheduling, check-in/check-out processes, and proper registration documentation. Key duties also include communicating with patients and providers, managing insurance authorizations, collecting payments, entering charges, and overseeing medical records and supply management.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three years of related experience. Essential abilities include strong communication skills, the capacity to remain calm under stress, proficiency in evaluating information for independent decision-making, and physical capabilities like lifting up to 30 lbs and prolonged standing or sitting.
