The LPN is responsible for delivering quality nursing care to meet patient medical needs through direct interpersonal contact and collaborating with the treatment team to maintain a therapeutic environment. Key duties include administering medications, monitoring patients, overseeing the medication room, assisting with physician orders and documentation, and providing patient education.
Candidates must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of employment with a minimum of one year of experience in the substance abuse and/or mental health field, including knowledge of psychopharmacology. Required certifications include CPR, and the ability to triage effectively during medical emergencies is essential.
