The CT Technologist operates advanced diagnostic scanning equipment to produce cross-sectional images, preparing and positioning patients while explaining procedures to ensure cooperation. Key duties include administering contrast media, evaluating image quality, maintaining accurate records, and adhering strictly to radiation safety standards.
Candidates must possess an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology and hold current ARRT certification in Radiography, along with post-primary ARRT certification in Computed Tomography. Essential qualifications also include valid state licensure (if applicable), BLS/CPR certification, and proficiency in venous access and contrast agent injection.
Work Environment This position operates in a hospital or outpatient imaging center. The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift or move patients, stand for long periods, and wear lead aprons when necessary. It may involve exposure to ionizing radiation and infectious diseases.
