Nurse responsibilities include:
Advanced Assessment of a patient’s condition and planning and implementing patient care plans.
Providing advanced life support including ventilator support; Assisting physicians in performing procedures. - Observing and recording patient vital signs as well as intake and outputs every one (1) hour. - Ensuring that ventilators, monitors and other types of medical equipment function properly. - Administering continuous vasoactive and cardiac medications; Ordering diagnostic tests.
Collaborating with fellow members of the critical care team; Provide care using nursing standards and Hospital/ICU protocols for treatment.
Acting as patient advocates; Providing education and support to patient families.
Caring for both medical and surgical patients; Providing care to the immediate post-operative patient.
Responding to Rapid Responses and medical emergencies throughout the medical campus.
Being part of end of life conversations as well as collaborating with the Palliative Care and Hospice teams.

Compensation: The starting rate of pay for this position is $47.58 per hour. For the night shift, there is an additional night shift differential of $6.50 per hour. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience License Requirement License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York. Education and Experience 1. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time oncology nursing experience; or 2. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time critical care experience; or 3. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting; or 4. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting and completion of Roswell Park nursing orientation with the ability to function independently at a satisfactory level for three (3) months (full-time) as a Nurse I at Roswell Park.
NOTE: 1. Incumbents will serve a one (1) year full-time probationary period as a Nurse II. 2. Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
