Requires a New York State license as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Technologist and an Associate's degree in Medical Technology or a related field. Candidates must have at least two years of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technician.
As a Laboratory Technician, you play a vital role in patient care by helping provide the accurate, timely test results that guide diagnosis and treatment. Your work behind the scenes directly supports clinical teams and impacts patient outcomes every day. The starting annual salary for the position is $56,506 and the pay can range dependent on experience. There will be an additional geographic differential of $2.20/Hr and assignment pay differential of $4.00/Hr. This can also include a full comprehensive benefits package. What You’ll Do In this role, you will: Perform a variety of laboratory tests, from routine to more complex procedures Accurately analyze and interpret data to support diagnosis and treatment Ensure all testing is completed in a timely and efficient manner Maintain quality and safety standards within the lab Assist with specialized duties, including limited blood banking with additional training Support the onboarding and training of new team members Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a smooth, high-performing lab environment What You’ll Bring We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and passionate about laboratory science. Required Education and Experience License Requirement 1. License to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or. 2. Eligibility for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in the State of New York. Education and Experience Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related health care discipline and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technician. NOTES: 1. License to practice as a Certified Histological Technician in the State of New York may be accepted in lieu of the licensure requirement found in “1” above for positions assigned to the Histology Service; or 2. Eligibility for licensure as a Certified Histological Technician in the State of New York may be accepted in lieu of the licensure eligibility requirement found in “2” above for those positions assigned to the Histology Service. 3. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain the required licensure within six (6) months of their appointment to this title. 4. Possession of the Clinical Laboratory Technician licensure supersedes educational requirements listed above, as stated in section 58-1.5 (e) of the NYS Codes, Rules and Regulations. 5. Possession of the Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure supersedes educational requirements listed above, as stated in section 58-1.5 (b) of the NYS Codes, Rules and Regulations. 6. Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
