Candidates must be proficient in specimen handling and record keeping, possessing strong attention to detail to ensure thorough examination of tissue margins. Required education includes an associate degree in a laboratory science or specific coursework equivalent.

This role is instrumental in the lab. The Mohs Technician processes tissue producing quality slides for the Mohs surgeon. Must be proficient in specimen handling and record keeping. The ideal candidate possess attention to detail to ensure that 100% of the tissue margins are examined, reducing the chance of cancer recurrence.

Have earned an associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or have education including at least 60 semester hours, or equivalent, from an accredited institution including at least 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses (which includes 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination)
