The Patient Care Assistant performs assigned patient care tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including collecting and documenting tests, monitoring high-risk patients, and obtaining vital signs. Responsibilities also involve aseptic procedures like Foley catheter insertion, specimen handling, patient transport, and maintaining supply levels.
Candidates must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate the ability to read, write, and follow instructions, along with maintaining CPR certification. Essential clinical competencies include proficiency in electronic medical records, 12 lead ECG testing, phlebotomy, and Ortho-Glass skills.

Under assessment and supervision of the Registered Nurse and according to established policies and procedures, performs patient care activities in order to assist health care providers in performing various clinical and technical procedures in the patient care area.
