The coordinator will recruit, screen, consent, and enroll participants in oncology clinical trials while building relationships with patients and collecting high-quality data at study visits. Key duties involve maintaining accurate documentation, processing lab specimens, tracking adverse events, and ensuring strict protocol and regulatory compliance.
Candidates must possess a relevant clinical license (such as Registered Nurse) and meet specific education requirements, with higher levels requiring increasing amounts of clinical research experience, up to seven years for the highest level. Certification (CCRC/CCRP) is required for the top tier role.
At least seven years of clinical research experience demonstrating progressive levels of responsibility and complexity of work. Master’s or other advanced degree may substitute for one year of clinical research experience. Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) and/or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) is required within one year of hire. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. Salary will be commensurate with education, experience, and job level. CRC 1, licensed positions (within the department) typically start over $32/hour. This is a benefited position. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site.
