The Radiology Technologist performs routine and complex diagnostic radiology procedures under the direction of a Radiologist, which includes positioning patients, setting technical factors, and performing various radiographs of the body.
Candidates must be graduates of an AMA approved radiology program and possess a minimum of one year of experience is preferred. Required certifications include Basic Life Support, registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology (R), and Illinois Emergency Management Agency certification.
Ultrasound Technician - Touchette Location
$15,000 Sign-on Bonus!!!
Monday - Friday 8 hr shifts with minimal call
The Ultrasound Technologists utilizes ultrasound imaging equipment to visualize internal organs and structures for the purpose of diagnosing abnormalities.
· Performs a wide variety of complex ultrasound examinations such as; pelvic sono, biophysical profile, ob sono, abdomen, kidney, breast, testicular, thyroid and color-flow Doppler studies of veins and carotid arteries.
· Reviews request from physicians and determine the appropriate procedure and equipment necessary to obtain the desired images. Records patient history.
· Assists in performance of invasive procedures such as needle guided biopsies and aspirations.
· Able to visualize the function and position of three dimensional forms within the body from a two dimensional presentation.
· Monitors patient condition during examination and provides excellent customer service.
· Coordinates with vendors for service and notifies manager with any equipment issues.
· Coordinates patient information with PACS and EMR to save data.
· Performs all other duties as assigned.
· Graduate of an American Medical Association approved program preferred.
· One year preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
· Basic life support required.
· Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers required.
Skills and Abilities
· Thorough knowledge of anatomy to visualize and document medically significant findings.
