The Central Monitor Tech is primarily responsible for identifying cardiac rhythms and promptly notifying the nurse of any changes observed across 41 rhythm channels in a central monitoring area. Additionally, the role involves assuming responsibility for facilitating nursing unit operations, including clerical and specific patient care activities, as directed by the Registered Nurse.
Candidates must possess a high school education or GED equivalent and must have completed an approved nursing assistant or unit secretary course, or currently be attending an approved Nursing program (RN, LPN). Required certifications include BLS, and candidates must pass a Rhythm Identification Test within 30 days and complete a Rhythm Identification Course within 90 days of hire.
