The Physician Assistant provides assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient needs as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team, working in collaboration with supervising physicians to provide optimal patient care from diagnostic to prognostic matters. Responsibilities also include functioning as a first or second assistant in operative cases, performing procedures, and prescribing treatments and medications within scope.
Candidates must graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant Program and possess active PA Certification by the NCCPA and a Connecticut State Physician Assistant License, along with ACLS/BLS certification. A minimum of 1 year of operating room first assist experience is required, with experience in total joint cases strongly preferred, and participation in a required call rotation.
