About the Role

• As a Dental Assistant at Long Island Select Healthcare Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice.
• Your primary responsibility will be to assist dentists during procedures, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care and comfort.
• You will also be responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, preparing instruments, and managing patient records.
• Your compassionate approach will help to alleviate patient anxiety and foster a welcoming atmosphere.
• Ultimately, your contributions will directly impact patient satisfaction and the overall efficiency of our dental services.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a dental assisting program or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in dental radiography.
• Bilingual skills to assist a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment to maintain infection control standards.
• Manage patient records, including scheduling appointments and updating treatment plans.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care to promote better dental health.
• Ensure the dental office is organized and well-stocked with necessary supplies.

Skills

• The required skills of dental assisting, including knowledge of dental terminology and sterilization techniques, are essential for maintaining a safe and efficient practice.
• Daily, you will utilize your understanding of infection control to ensure that all instruments are properly cleaned and prepared for use.

• Additionally, familiarity with Dentrix will streamline your administrative tasks, allowing you to focus more on patient care.

This job may require you to travel between clinic sites depending upon scheduling needs.
