The Respite Nurse provides one-on-one nursing support to children with special healthcare needs in their home or community. This includes interacting with the child, participating in activities, and completing necessary documentation.
Candidates must have a current valid RN or LPN license in Iowa and an active BLS certification. They should also possess a valid driver's license and be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
The role of a Respite Nurse is to offer one-on-one time between a child and licensed nurse within the family’s home or community. Respite care is designed to give families a break from the day-to-day care involved in raising a child with special healthcare needs. ChildServe’s respite service allows parents to attend events for their other children, schedule appointments for themselves, or simply take time to recharge.
