Radiology Tech - Cardiac Cath Lab

Description This opportunity is for Mon-Fri.- full time days and some call. New Grads Welcome Performs a variety of technical tasks involved in operating radiographic/x-ray equipment and making radiographs of designated parts of the body. Assists in all invasive procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab and/or Special Procedures/Electrophysiology lab. The staff in this position will work as part of a team with physician, registered nurses, and cardiovascular technicians.

• Essential duties and responsibilities 1.
• Demonstrates responsibility for x-ray equipment in all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• 2.
• Adjusts equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.
• 3.
• Positions patients for certain anatomical view using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
• 4.
• Accurately processes images, matched with appropriate labels and information for interpretation.
• 5.
• Daily responsibility for checking that all procedures were properly transmitted and archived.
• 6.
• Functions as a scrub person and a procedure table for all diagnostic and interventional procedures 7.
• Functions as a monitor person in all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• 8.
• Rotates calls for all emergency and add-on procedures.
• 9.
• Demonstrates understanding of radiation safety and sterile techniques.
• 10.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Education and/or Experience 1+ to 3 years in Cath Lab/Special Procedure, Electrophysiology preferred Graduation from an approved program in Radiology Technology BLS, Current Licensure in the State of Illinois, Current Registration by ARRT and IEMA, are required.
• ACLS and ECG are preferred.
• Ability to speak and write English to the extent necessary for safe and efficient performance of the job.
