Optometric Technicians collaborate with doctors to manage patient care, including preliminary evaluations, pre-testing, specialty testing, and handling post-exam duties while maintaining the doctor's schedule for a positive patient experience. Key tasks involve entering patient data into EHRs, instructing patients on prescribed medical care, discussing Lasik options, and performing various diagnostic tests using specialty equipment.
Candidates must possess a High School or GED qualification along with entry-level PC skills including Microsoft Office, Windows, and Word Processing. Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment and excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for professional collaboration with co-workers and patients.
