This role involves receiving, processing, facilitating, and documenting all payer communications, supporting denial mitigation by ensuring timely documentation submission and following up on accounts lacking authorization. The assistant also supports the Utilization Management Hub by identifying trends and opportunities for process improvement and reporting them to leadership.
The position requires performing duties with high accuracy, utilizing critical thinking skills, and adhering to hospital policies, standards of practice, and Federal and State Regulations. Key tasks include managing payer requests for documentation, coordinating authorizations, reviewing surgery schedules for authorization verification, and communicating with interdepartmental staff.
Develops accountability for own practice, delegated care, and the coordination of care delivery. Behaves in a manner that supports colleagues, and maintains respect, trust and dignity.
