The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is responsible for safely and accurately administering medications to residents in a nursing home setting under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. Essential functions include assisting with prescribed medication administration, verifying orders, monitoring residents for adverse reactions, and accurately documenting all administration.
Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent and completion of a Certified Medication Aide program, along with meeting any necessary state-specific requirements. Required abilities include effective communication with staff and individuals, and potentially providing proof of a valid driver's license and auto liability insurance if driving is involved.
