The CRNA administers anesthesia to pediatric patients and collaborates with anesthesiologists to determine appropriate anesthetic plans. They also manage preoperative, perioperative, and immediate postoperative care, ensuring patient safety and quality improvement.
Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in nursing or nursing anesthetist and at least two years of experience as a CRNA with a pediatric background. Licenses required include RN and CRNA certifications, along with BLS, PALS, and ACLS.

A Brief Overview A CRNA is a member of the anesthesiology care team which administers anesthesia to pediatric patients. The CRNA must possess the necessary skills in order to provide anesthesia care appropriate to the neonatal, pediatric and adolescent population. The CRNA implements the mission, vision, and values of Children's Hospital & Medical Center.
Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or nursing Anesthetist Required Experience Qualifications Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Intensive/Acute Care Nurse in pediatrics Preferred and Minimum 2 years’ experience as a CRNA with a pediatric background Preferred Skills and Abilities Strong organizational skills Knowledge or training in managing patients with congenital heart disease Knowledge or training in managing neonatal patients Attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skills Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job Perform physical requirements as described in the physical requirements section Ability to work in fast paced environment Licenses and Certifications RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure valid in the state of Nebraska Required and CRNA - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Required and Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association is Required and PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Required and ACLS within 180 Days Required
