The Optometric Technician will assist optometrists by performing vision exams and eye health assessments for patients primarily located in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. Responsibilities include conducting preliminary testing, administering basic diagnostic tests, documenting findings, and maintaining ophthalmic equipment.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and completion of an Optometric Technician training program or relevant certification is preferred. Prior experience in optometry or ophthalmology is strongly preferred, especially experience within skilled nursing or long-term care settings.
