The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing bedside respiratory care to both in-house and out-patient clients as ordered by a physician. This includes the safe administration of prescribed medications and therapeutic modalities, as well as setting up and monitoring oxygen delivery systems.
Candidates must possess current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, and be a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care. A minimum of two years of experience in an acute care setting is required, along with an associate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant science or a high school diploma for moderate complexity blood gas analysis.
The registered respiratory therapist provides bedside respiratory care to patients as assigned by supervisors and given on the physician’s written order for both in-house and out-patient care.
