The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists by providing technical assistance in compliance with department policy and California State law, maintaining close communication with pharmacists and other technicians. Essential duties include preparing drug orders according to protocols, operating automation technology under supervision, issuing controlled substances, and performing functions related to drug purchasing and inventory control.
Candidates need a minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience, with 1-3 years of hospital experience preferred, and must possess a High School Graduate/Equivalent. A current CA Pharmacy Technician Certification or CA Intern Pharmacist license is required, and PTCB certification is preferred or must be obtained within six months of hire.
