The Speech Therapist conducts assessments and reassessments of patient rehabilitation needs, planning, implementing, and supervising therapeutic programs to improve communicative and swallowing abilities. Duties include guiding patients in techniques, observing reactions to treatment, reporting changes, and instructing family members and agency personnel.
Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited university program and hold current licensure by the state of Texas as a Speech-Language-Pathologist. Certification of Clinical Competence by ASHA is required, and one year of experience in a home health setting is preferred.
Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent) from a University program accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing-Association. Current licensed by the state of Texas to practice as a Speech-Language-Pathologist. Has been granted a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech Language Hearing Association. One (1) year experience in Speech Language Pathology in a home health setting perffered. DEGRESS OF TRAVEL: Must have a car with current insurance coverage and a state driver’s license. DEGRESS OF DISRUPTION TO ROUTINE, OVERTIME: Must be able to adapt to client status and needs as directed. Schedule changes daily due to client condition and needs, new clients, etc. SAFETY HAZARDS IN JOB: Possible infections from clients, auto accident, unsafe neighborhoods.
