The Polysomnographic Technologist collaborates with medical leadership and staff to ensure optimal efficiency in sleep disorder testing and scoring. This role involves performing comprehensive sleep testing and analysis, along with associated interventions, under general supervision.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with meeting one of several educational/experience criteria, such as an associate’s degree in an allied health field or six months as a sleep trainee. Candidates must possess the Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) credential or equivalent and six months of clinical EEG Tech experience, with further certification required within 24 months of hire.
The Polysomnographic Technologist works collectively with the Medical Director, Leadership, staff and patients to achieve optimal efficiency and success in sleep disorder testing and scoring. Performs comprehensive sleep testing / analysis and associated interventions under the general supervision of the Leader, Medical Director, or designee. Provide supervision of a Polysomnographic Trainee.
Education: An associate’s degree in an allied healthcare field (respiratory care or neuro-diagnostics). Other skills/knowledge: Analytical skills necessary to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative statistical data and conduct diagnostic procedures.
