The Nurse Practitioner will provide general medical care within a community-oriented primary care program, conducting physical exams, diagnosing illnesses, ordering tests, and prescribing treatment consistent with evidence-based guidelines. Responsibilities also include maintaining clinical standards, ensuring productivity, documenting interactions, and assisting with medical staff recruitment and evaluation.
Candidates must complete a course of study leading to certification as a Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Nurse Midwife, and hold current Advance Practice Registered Nurse licensure by the New Mexico Board of Nursing, along with national certification. Required credentials include current DEA and New Mexico Controlled Substance Registration, and current CPR/BLS certification.
The Primary Care Provider delivers comprehensive, patient-centered care within a community-oriented primary care setting. This role focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions while promoting overall health and wellness. The provider collaborates with an interdisciplinary care team to improve patient outcomes, ensure continuity of care, and support organizational quality initiatives. This position may also provide clinical supervision, technical assistance, and guidance to health professional students and other medical providers.
