The Registered Dietician plans and delivers nutritional care based on physician diagnoses, acting as a member of the multidisciplinary team and screening new patients for nutritional risk. Responsibilities include prescribing therapeutic diet orders, developing individualized care plans, approving menus, and providing nutritional teaching and counseling to patients and families.
A Bachelor's degree in coursework approved by CADE or ADA is required, along with a current Registered Dietician license in the state of employment, CPR certification, and hospital-selected de-escalation technique certification. A minimum of three years of experience as a Registered Dietician in a healthcare or educational setting is mandatory.
A minimum of one (1) year experience in a behavioral healthcare setting. May substitute education for experience
