The APP will provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management for patients throughout their disease process as part of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with supervising physicians. Responsibilities include obtaining histories, performing exams, ordering tests, prescribing chemotherapy, formulating treatment plans, and educating patients and families.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program and possess an active, unrestricted CT medical license or be in the process of obtaining one. One to two years of Hematology Oncology experience is preferred.

Provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs throughout the disease process as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team. Work in collaboration with the attending supervising/collaborating physician(s) in accordance with state law and hospital regulations, hospital policy, protocols, and clinical pathways, and may provide autonomous team-based care. Obtains medical histories, performs physical examinations, reviews/orders diagnostic/therapeutic tests and radiologic results, chemotherapy prescribing, formulates and manages patient treatment plans. The APP will educate patients and families on care and available resources, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. This includes admitting instructions, treatment plans, potential side effects, and discharge plans. The APP, as part of a interdisciplinary team, provides psychosocial support to patients, their family members, and significant others in a caring, ethical, and professional manner.
EDUCATION Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or an accredited Physician Assistant Program. EXPERIENCE 1-2 years of Hematology Oncology experience preferred Active, unrestricted CT medical license or in process of obtaining BLS (as required) Certification DEA License
