The Clinical Psychologist provides psychological assessments and tailored treatment plans for patients with digestive health, obesity, and liver diseases. They collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons and dieticians to deliver outpatient counseling and psychotherapeutic interventions.
Candidates must hold a PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program and be licensed in Maryland. At least three years of counseling experience is preferred, with a preference for experience in GI-related health.
Clinical Psychologist - Behavioral Health (Primary Focus on Digestive Health, Obesity and Liver Diseases)- The Clinical Psychologist will serve as a resource for patients, families, and professionals on psychological issues related to gastrointestinal, pancreatic, or liver diseases, including liver transplantation and obesity related metabolic diseases. The Clinical Psychologist will assess the patient, provide recommendations, set goals, instruct the patient/family with a plan, and evaluate the success of interventions. The individual will develop individualized and tailored treatment plans for each patient referred. Provides outpatient counseling to individuals with various GI, liver, pancreatic, nutritional and metabolic conditions Responsible for formulating and updating treatment plans Documents all interactions, coordinates care, and communicates pertinent information to other team members in a timely manner Works with multidisciplinary team members, including gastroenterologists and bariatric surgeons, liver transplant team and dietician and provides evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, case management & psychotherapeutic interventions Participate in professional training activities to maintain and advance knowledge base
Education- Licensed behavioral health professional (clinical psychologist or neuropsychologist preferred) in the state of Maryland PhD/PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited doctoral program Counseling experience: at least three years (flexible) GI experience preferred, but not mandatory. If there is no GI experience, should be willing to undergo short training that will be supported by the GI physicians #LI-LD1

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
