The physician will evaluate patients and treat both acute and chronic illnesses, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and creating treatment plans while involving patients and their families in decisions. Responsibilities also include collaborating on care delivery improvements, initiating specialty referrals, providing clinical information to the team, ensuring timely and accurate documentation, and maintaining compliance with billing and coding.
Candidates must possess an MD or DO degree along with a minimum of a three-year residency in either internal medicine or family medicine recognized by ABIM or ABFM, respectively. Required credentials include valid American Board certification, an unrestricted Connecticut medical license, BLS certification, and a valid DEA registration with a Controlled Substance Certificate.
