The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering patient care in the Emergency Department, coordinating nursing care based on established standards and collaborating with other professionals. They also ensure compliance with hospital policies and participate in quality improvement processes.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing school with a current Illinois RN Licensure, and three years of nursing experience is preferred. CPR, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications are required or must be obtained.
Description A Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation with consideration of the aging process, human development stages and cultural diversity. Directs and coordinates all nursing care for Emergency Department patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards and hospital policy and procedures. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Scheduled workdays and times may vary and will include weekends and holidays.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Graduate of accredited nursing school Three years of nursing experience preferred. Ability to pass specific competencies for this position. Ability to work under pressure with tight time constraints. Better than average human relations and organizational skills
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Maintain current Illinois RN Licensure Associate Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. CPR, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certification required, or be willing to obtain. Additional certifications may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Works in a well-lit, climate controlled, office setting. Eyestrain and other conditions from use of computer screen may occur. May be exposed to communicable diseases, hypodermic/IV needles, unpleasant sights, odors, and materials. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.
CORPORATE COMPLIANCE Receives training and/or attends necessary meetings to meet the criteria as outlined in Hillsboro Health’s Corporate Compliance Plan and Code of Conduct. Understands the responsibilities related to compliance and knows how to contact the Corporate Compliance Officer should there be any instance of question or concern regarding fraud and/or abuse.
