The technologist performs computed tomography procedures, including contrast administration, utilizing complex imaging equipment for image acquisition, analysis, and documentation. Responsibilities also involve ensuring proper coding, tracking, networking, and charging for all performed exams within the RIS and ISITE systems.
Applicants must be graduates of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or complete an accredited CNMT program, and must possess a minimum of six months of experience to qualify for the Night Program. Registry requirements mandate obtaining ARRT or CNMT certification within specified timeframes post-hire, along with maintaining necessary state clearances and Basic Life Support certification.
Performs computed tomography procedures, including contrast administration, and utilizes complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, and documentation of image data. Ensures all exams within area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS system, all exams are properly networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed. Administers PO, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders/department policy and assesses patients for potential risk factors prior to the administration of the contrast. Demonstrates the ability to communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner, and explains procedures to help allay the patient's fears and solicit their cooperation. Demonstrates a strong ability to interact with both patients and co-workers, while displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect. Able to work as a team member within the department and all other departments to expedite patient care efficiently. Identifies all patients properly by using two patient identifiers. Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, and documents patient history in electronic record, as required. Demonstrates proper technique in venipuncture.
