The Ophthalmic Technician assists the Ophthalmology team by providing patient care, which includes taking patient histories and performing specialized tests such as auto fractions, lensometry, K-reading, visual fields, and A and B scans. This role also involves overseeing patient hours and managing operational workflow.
A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required for this position, along with two years of experience in a related discipline. Experience with patient work-up, related diagnostic tests, and surgical assistance is preferred.
Under the direction of the Ophthalmology team, assists in providing patient care through visit by taking histories, performing special tests including auto fractions lensometry, K-reading, visual fields, and A and B scans. Oversees patient hours including operational workflow, performs special tests.
