The resident physician is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care in hospital and outpatient settings while obtaining the necessary knowledge and experience for independent practice. Key duties include developing a self-study program, participating in patient care under supervision, and fulfilling research and scholarly activity requirements.
Candidates must hold a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree or equivalent. A minimum requirement is obtaining Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within four days of hire.
Provide direct and indirect patient care in various healthcare settings including in-hospital and outpatient clinics. Primary responsible is to obtain knowledge and experience necessary to progress to independent medical practice without direct supervision.
