The Patient Care Tech provides direct patient care and performs unit functions under the supervision of a registered nurse as part of the healthcare team. This role involves performing vital signs, collecting and documenting patient data, and communicating any abnormalities to the RN.
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or GED and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or the ability to obtain it before working independently. Certification as a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant and previous patient care experience are preferred qualifications.

The Patient Care Tech performs patient care and unit functions under the direction of a registered nurse as a part of the health care team. Responsible for communicating completed assigned tasks to the registered nurse. Responsible for following established organization and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines of the hospital. Supports the philosophy and goals of OSS Orthopaedic Hospital.
12-hr day shifts, 3 days a week (72 hours bi-weekly). 1 minor holiday, 1 major holiday. Every 5th weekend.
