The Physical Therapy Assistant will observe patients before, during, and after therapy, reporting status to a physical therapist, and will assist patients with specific exercises as part of the established plan of care. Responsibilities also include treating patients using techniques like massage and stretching, utilizing assistive devices, and educating patients and family members post-treatment.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and hold a current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Ohio. Essential competencies include the ability to comprehend patient information and effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

The Challenge (Job Summary)
As a physical therapy assistant, you have the opportunity to live our core values every day by helping our patients in all walks of life, providing high quality care, working with an excellent team, being a trusted resource for our patients and team members, and having an impact in the community through our engagement and volunteer efforts. In addition, the ideal candidate will work under the direction and supervision of physical therapists. PTA will help patients who are recovering from injuries and illnesses regain movement and manage pain.

Physical Therapist Assistants may spend a lot of time on their feet while working with patients. May be required to lift and move patients or heavy equipment. Many work in multiple facilities and have to travel from one job to another. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 10 pounds.
