The Physical Therapist is responsible for providing and directing Physical Therapy services, including assessment, treatment, program planning, implementation, documentation, and communication under physician's orders. Key duties involve screening patients, diagnosing movement dysfunction, developing treatment plans, and guiding assistants and patients.
Candidates must possess a Master's or Doctorate of Physical Therapy from an accredited program and hold current licensure through the State Board of Physical Therapy. A minimum of one year of experience in a Skilled Nursing setting is preferred, along with a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and CPR certification.
Screening patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms. Diagnosing movement dysfunction and developing a treatment plan. Providing guidance and direction to Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA's). Teaching patients how to properly use therapeutic exercise techniques. Maintaining patient records and keeping track of goals and progress. Advising the patient and family about in-home treatment options and exercises.
