The medical technologist performs moderate to high complexity clinical laboratory assays, evaluates result validity, troubleshoots equipment and testing issues, and performs quality control and maintenance under supervision. Duties involve interpreting and reporting test results accurately across various laboratory areas to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science, or a Bachelor's in another field plus completion of a Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science program, or MT-HEW certification in lieu of a degree. Required competencies include strong computer skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in multitasking.
