The Anesthetist responds to patient anesthetic needs, coordinating care across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases under the direction of an anesthesiologist. Key duties include formulating anesthetic plans, administering anesthesia for procedures, and performing special line placement procedures.
A Master's Degree in Nurse Anesthesia is required, though CRNAs who graduated before December 31, 2003, from an accredited program may be accepted in lieu of the degree. Candidates must possess active SC RN-Advance Practice and CRNA-Nurse Anesthetist certifications/registrations.
