This role initiates and directs the timely assignment of beds for patients requiring inpatient admission or outpatient observation. The coordinator must promote collaboration across departments and continually monitor bed status to ensure optimal utilization.
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with completion of an accredited medical terminology course. Candidates must possess three years of experience in a related role, including one year specifically in Bed Control or Scheduling.
Initiates and directs timely assignment of beds for persons requiring inpatient admission or outpatient observation. Promotes a collaborative healthcare intake process through multidepartmental coordination for service administration. Continually monitors and reports the current state of the house and plan for moving beds to achieve optimal utilization. Supports pre registration and registration by serving as back-up when needed.
