The Ultrasound Technician provides superior customer service while operating ultrasonic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures including abdominal, pelvic, vascular, and intervention sonograms. Responsibilities also involve assisting physicians in sterile procedures like needle biopsies and maintaining quality assurance programs for diagnostic equipment.
Candidates must have satisfactory completion of a formal ultrasound program eligible for ARDMS registry, with Maternal Fetal Medicine experience and RDMS (Ob/Gyn) certification required. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience, knowledge of anatomy, ultrasound physics, and universal precautions are necessary.
Minimum Education: · Satisfactory completion of a formal ultrasound program that meets standards of approval for eligibility of registry by ARDMS Registration is required with 1 year of employment. Minimum Experience: Maternal fetal medicine experience, with a certification in RDMS (Ob/Gyn) is required. Minimum 1-2 years’ experience. Must be a graduate of Allied health training program recognized by the ARDMS. Knowledge of anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, medical terminology. Knowledge of the principles of ultrasound physics and instrumentation. Knowledge of ultrasound imaging and equipment. Knowledge of universal precautions. Minimum skills/abilities: · English communication skills are required. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Basic computer knowledge. Certification/Licensure: · BLS certification either upon hire or within a 90 day period is required. ARDMS registered or registry eligible with completion within one year of hire date. Registry area should be appropriate to the scope of practice. Compensation Range: $47.45- $70.51 This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications.
