The Intake RN provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment to aid physicians in determining the appropriate level of care for potential patients. This role serves as the initial contact, coordinating the referral and intake process while maintaining communication with various stakeholders and handling financial verification.
Candidates must possess an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing and hold a valid Georgia State RN license. Duties include receiving physician orders, providing RN scope medical treatment, and coordinating external transfers for emergency cases.

The Intake RN is the initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff. The Intake RN works with the Business Office regarding patient financial data and verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed, as well as with the UR Department for the certification of patients admitted.
