The Hospital Mortician coordinates decedent affairs, including family communication and paperwork, while assisting pathologists with postmortem examinations. They are also responsible for maintaining laboratory instruments and managing the storage and disposition of autopsy specimens.
Candidates must have completed pre-mortuary science coursework and hold state certification as a licensed embalmer and funeral director. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to interact with grieving families and hospital staff.
