The Surgical Assistant performs housekeeping duties including cleaning, disinfecting, and organizing operating rooms between procedures, replenishing inventory, and ensuring other areas are sanitized. This role also involves answering phones, responding to requests, assisting with room setup, and transporting patients, lab specimens, and blood products as needed.
A high school diploma is required for this position, and candidates must obtain BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer before providing direct patient care. Preferred qualifications include time management skills and prior experience serving as an OR Assistant.
