The Medical Biller is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing medical claims and invoices to ensure timely reimbursement from insurance companies and patients. This involves preparing claims, generating patient invoices, verifying insurance, assigning medical codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and managing payment posting and denial appeals.
Candidates must have a minimum of one year of medical billing experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, and a high school diploma or equivalent; additional certification is preferred. Required knowledge includes medical terminology, billing software proficiency (like Epic or Cerner), and strong skills in attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving.
We are seeking a skilled Medical Biller to join our client's healthcare team in the United States. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing medical claims and invoices, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies and patients. The Medical Biller will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Job Responsibilities: Claims Processing: Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid for reimbursement.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of billing activities, including claims submissions, payments, and correspondence with insurance companies and patients.
Adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and billing compliance guidelines, to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of patient information.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional medical billing and coding certification is preferred.
Minimum of one year of experience in medical billing, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Proficient in medical terminology, billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner), and insurance claim processing procedures.
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
