The Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician is responsible for providing comprehensive medical and surgical care to women across the lifespan, including preventive care, management of gynecologic conditions, and obstetric services. Key duties involve managing prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, performing necessary surgical procedures, and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
Candidates must possess an MD or DO from an accredited medical school and complete an accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program. Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in Pennsylvania and board certification or eligibility in OB/GYN are mandatory requirements for this role.
Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) PhysicianPosition Summary The Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician provides comprehensive medical and surgical care to women across the lifespan. This role includes preventive care, management of gynecologic conditions, and obstetric services, with an emphasis on evidence-based, patient-centered care and collaboration within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to patients Manage prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care Diagnose and treat acute and chronic gynecologic conditions Perform routine gynecologic examinations and preventive screenings Perform obstetric and gynecologic surgical procedures within scope of practice Conduct vaginal and cesarean deliveries as indicated Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Order, interpret, and document diagnostic tests and imaging Educate patients on reproductive health, family planning, and preventive care Collaborate with nursing staff, midwives, anesthesiology, pediatrics, and specialty consultants Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management initiatives Practice Setting Hospital and outpatient clinic settings Call coverage and shift requirements based on practice model Patient Population Women across reproductive and post-reproductive stages Obstetric patients with low- to moderate-risk pregnancies
