Requires a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with completion of accredited Internal Medicine residency, Gastroenterology fellowship, and Advanced Endoscopy fellowship. Must be board-eligible or board-certified in Gastroenterology and hold or be eligible for unrestricted state medical licensure and DEA registration.
Advanced Endoscopist (MD/DO)Position Summary The Advanced Endoscopist provides specialized diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic care for patients with complex gastrointestinal and pancreaticobiliary disorders. Evaluate and manage patients with complex gastrointestinal, biliary, and pancreatic conditions Perform advanced endoscopic procedures consistent with training and privileges, including ERCP, EUS, advanced polypectomy, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), and management of gastrointestinal bleeding Provide inpatient gastroenterology consultation services and outpatient clinic care Collaborate with hepatology, surgery, oncology, radiology, and interventional teams for comprehensive patient management Interpret diagnostic studies including pathology, imaging, and laboratory data related to endoscopic care Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and tumor boards as applicable Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, procedural risks, benefits, and follow-up care Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives Supervise and educate fellows, residents, advanced practice providers, or endoscopy staff as applicable Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
