The role involves the daily operation of the Histology department, which includes receiving and processing all surgical specimens to make them suitable for microscopic examination by pathologists. Key duties encompass specimen embedding, cutting, coverslipping, labeling, and performing routine, special, and Immunohistochemistry staining procedures.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science degree and preferred prior Histology Lab experience, along with ASCP Histotechnologist certification being preferred. Essential requirements include intense concentration, attention to detail, expertise with laboratory equipment like microtomes and stainers, and the ability to work under high time pressure.
