The Methadone Counselor provides direct counseling services, including psychosocial assessments, individual/group therapy, and crisis intervention, to patients suffering from alcoholism and substance abuse addictions. Responsibilities also include maintaining an active caseload, developing treatment plans, and ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with hospital standards.
Candidates need a minimum of one year of full-time paid experience in Addiction Counseling or equivalent life experience demonstrating recovery from substance abuse. A high school diploma is required, though a Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with basic computer knowledge.
Overview Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, and medical direction from the Chief Physician, a Methadone Counselor provides counseling services to individuals suffering from Alcoholism and and/or substance abuse addictions.
