The Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs laboratory tests on bodily fluids and tissues to aid in disease diagnosis, interpreting results for informed patient care decisions. Responsibilities also include implementing quality control, maintaining instruments, keeping detailed records, and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science or Medical Laboratory Technology, or meet CLIA educational requirements, and must obtain ASCP certification within one year if not already held. One year of hospital laboratory experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Education and Work Experience ASCP certification, or equivalent, required within 1 year of employment. One year hospital laboratory work experience preferred, but not required. Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489). Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.
