The Optometric Technician will assist optometrists by performing vision exams and eye health assessments for patients located in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. Responsibilities include conducting preliminary testing, preparing patients, administering basic diagnostic tests, and accurately documenting all clinical findings.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and completion of an Optometric or Ophthalmic Technician training program is preferred. Prior experience in optometry or ophthalmology is strongly preferred, along with excellent attention to detail and strong patient-care skills, especially when working with the geriatric population.
